Ok ladies - sounds like everyone is running crazy with school and all this good stuff we have going on - AREN'T WE TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND GREAT SCHOOLS AND HEALTHY KIDS? Sometimes it just hits me that we aren't living the normal life, we are all very blessed! I count each of you in those blessings too!I was so touched by her email and the sentiment. I try so hard to be grateful for all of the blessings in my life. And yet, there are still days when I am stressed and overwhelmed: How I am going to get all the wash done? What a pain to empty the dishwaster! It's late and I have to run to the grocery store to get milk for tomorrow! Really?? These are the things that "stress" me out sometimes!?
It reminds me of a story I heard from the two wonderful women who watched Grace and Abby when they were babies. Both of them emigrated from poor countries. One of the women said she would complain about having to go to the grocery store after watching the kids at the daycare all day. And the other woman would gently remind her that she should be grateful that she not only had money to go to the store to buy food but that she had a store to go to.I think of this story many times when I complain about having to do the grocery shopping.
I think the concept of cherishing your blessings comes with age and when you see others who you know struggling. With that comes the realization that there are so many people in this world carrying burdens that I can't even possibly imagine.
And so today, I'll just say to the world (or my handful of readers) that I am grateful for the blessings in my life - my friends and family. I cherish our health, our happiness, our time with each other. Step out of your routine today, this week, this month and be grateful for those in your presence and for those you love from far away!
